Project Title "Equity in Higher Education in Kazakhstan: A Comparative Study"

We are conducting a qualitative study on equity and access in higher education. As a volunteer research assistant, you will:
  • Assist in collecting and transcribing interview data (Kazakh/English).
  • Conduct literature searches on equity in post-Soviet higher education.
  • Help with data coding using NVivo (training provided).
  • Participate in team meetings and research discussions.
Interests & Skills Required
  • Strong interest in educational policy, sociology, or higher education.
  • Good academic writing and reading skills in English (Kazakh or Russian is a plus).
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and motivated to learn.
  • No prior research experience required — training will be provided
Working Hours & Format
  • 5–7 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Hybrid format (online tasks + occasional in-person meetings at NUGSE).
Learning & Publishing Opportunities
  • Gain hands-on training in qualitative research methods.
  • Opportunity to co-author a conference paper or journal article (based on contribution).
